Sky broadband customers in 34 areas of the UK are suffering from broadband connection issues and could have to wait until the end of April to see the problem fixed.
The congestion issue has been ongoing since the end of February, causing slower connections and increased latency for users. The service affects customers connected to Sky’s unbundled exchanges.
“We have been working hard to resolve the intermittent service issues being experienced by customers on a small number of exchanges,”
According to Sky, the problems stem from its network needing a capacity upgrade on local infrastructure in some areas.
“This is a result of Sky having to add more capacity into its local network infrastructure to meet the growing demand being placed on the network through high volumes of new customers and greater levels of demand from existing customers,”
On Anglesey the following exchanges are being affected with an expected resolution date of 14/4/2012/ Lllangefni , Menai Bridge and Holyhead.
